The Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) is promoted by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), and others as the foundation standard for public alerting in societies worldwide. CAP is an OASIS standard adopted as ITU-T Recommendation X.1303. Another in the series of CAP Implementation Workshops will be held at the WMO in Geneva, 23-24 April 2013. Also, on the day following the Workshop, 25 April, WMO is offering "CAP Jump Start" training in the same venue, open to anyone interested.
